Operation Christmas Child is a division of Samaritan’s Purse led by Franklin Graham. Operation Christmas Child works to fulfill the Great Commission by spreading the hope and love of Jesus Christ through shoeboxes. Each gift-filled shoe box is given as a tangible expression of God’s unconditional love. These simple shoe boxes bring joy, renew hope, and open the doors for the Good News of Jesus Christ. Last year was a huge success. CCA collected over 400 boxes!  Praise the Lord!!! Thank you for loving on children around the world through a shoebox.

In case you are new to CCA or are not familiar with Operation Christmas Child, here is a brief description of their ministry. Operation Christmas Child is a division of Samaritan's Purse led by Franklin Graham. Operation Christmas Child works to fulfill the Great Commission by spreading the hope and love of Jesus Christ through shoeboxes. Each gift-filled shoebox is given as a tangible expression of God's unconditional love. These simple shoe boxes bring joy, renew hope, and open the doors for the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Since 1993, over 146 million shoeboxes have been sent to over 160 countries and territories around the world. Shoeboxes are hand-delivered through local churches along with the Gospel message written in the recipient's language. Lives are transformed and souls are saved through the "The Greatest Journey", a powerful discipleship program designed for the children who receive these shoeboxes. In this 12 lesson Bible study, children learn how to effectively share their faith with family and friends. When they graduate, the children receive a Bible written in their own language. Since 2010, more than 11 million children who have received a shoebox gift have participated in The Greatest Journey. We invite you to take a deeper look online.

SPECIAL CHAPEL
As you can see, the ministry of Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Christmas Child is life changing. Calvary Christian Academy has come along Operation Christmas Child to help spread the Good News of Jesus Christ. On Wednesday, October 25, 2016, we will have a special chapel to introduce our student body to this ministry. We would love for parents, families and friends to join us. Chapel times are listed below.

  •        Preschool Chapel: 9:00am
  •        K - 5th grade Chapel: 7:50am
  •        High School Chapel: 11:09am
  •        Middle School Chapel: 12:19pm

On this special day, our Operation Christmas Child kick-off event, each child will be sent home with a shoebox. We are asking families to prayerfully consider filling the shoebox. Inside each shoebox will be an Operation Christmas Child brochure. In this brochure, there will be specific instructions of what to pack and what not to pack inside your shoebox, as well as labeling instructions for your box. Please tape this label on the outside of your box.

Please look over the list carefully as the list has changed since last year!

COLLECTION WEEK
We will be collecting the shoeboxes November 13th -17th. On November 17th, the entire student body will gather together to pray over the boxes as we send them off all over the world. We would love for you to join us for this chapel and take part in this special send-off.  This school wide chapel, November 18th at 11:55 am, will also be the day where we honor and celebrate our grandparents.

Thank you so very much for joining me last year changing lives one shoebox at a time. Please consider joining us again this year in spreading the love, hope and joy of Jesus Christ this Christmas season. We are so excited to be a part of this life-changing and soul saving ministry.

Sincerely,

Jennifer Thomas
