Miss Elizabeth began working with children in 1998 in the Children's Ministry here at CCSD. In 1999 she became involved with the preschool as a volunteer and has been here ever since. Her duties so far have included being an aide in the 3 and 4 year-old classrooms as well as being the lead teacher in the four year-old class. She holds a BS in Business Management from SDSU. Her ministries include teaching in the Women's Bible Study on Monday nights, volunteering for Sharp Hospice and aiding those at CCSD with terminal illnesses and funeral arrangements. She recently became involved in introducing the GriefShare program to CCSD to aid those who have lost a loved one. It is a joy for her to serve at CCA, she is especially blessed each day as she greets at the gate. She herself has been the recipient of many blessings from others throughout the years. She has two dogs, Eli and Buddy who keep her busy at home, along with her rose garden.

Mrs. Jessica joins CCA as our Assistant Director of the preschool. She has been working with young children since 1998 and holds a BS in Child and Family Development from San Diego State University. She directed an after school program for Our Lady of Grace and served as an assistant director at Bishop’s School in La Jolla. For the past three years she has worked as a Nanny for two young children. God has now led her here to CCA to pursue her calling in working with preschool aged children and their families. She and her husband, Justin, both attend Calvary Chapel and she serves in the nursery ministry. As a couple they serve by helping with the orphanage ministry in Ensenada.

Sharon Strong joined the Calvary Christian Preschool staff in the fall of 2007, as our two-year-old teacher.  She has an education in Early Childhood Development, and has completed an accreditation program with the National Association for Education of Young Children.  She has over 20 years of teaching experience with ages ranging from 2 to 5 years.  Her previous experience includes, director and coordinator of summer school programs, development of afternoon enrichment programs, and design to reinforce letter and number concepts through large motor activities.  Sharon and her husband Mark are members of Calvary Chapel San Diego.

Mrs. Luz Maria Martinez and her husband came to know the Lord Jesus Christ in August of 1984. She has been involved in education since 1987. This year marks her third year working with preschool age children here at Calvary Christian Academy. She has a passion for teaching and has been involved in introducing and maintaining our Spanish Program to preschoolers. She has two wonderful daughters and six lovely grandchildren. 

Miss Tania has walked with the Lord since she was a young girl. She and her family are very involved in their church, La Rocka Comunidad Cristiana. Her ministries include being involved in the praise and worship team, the youth group drama team and the in-home Bible study. She joined the CCA preschool staff in 2008 and is working on her degree in Early Childhood Development at Southwestern College. She has experience with infants, toddlers and preschool aged children and brings that experience to the classrooms.

Miss Thalia joined CCA preschool in 2007. She is part of the trio of Rendon’s that work here. Thalia is working towards a degree in Early Childhood Development at Southwestern College. She and her family are very involved in the church they attend, La Rocka Comunidad Cristiana. She has worked with children in her church and looks forward to becoming a lead teacher someday. She is joined on our staff by her mother Marisela and her sister Tania.

Mrs. Andrea has been with the preschool since 1995 and is the lead teacher for the three year old classroom. Her involvement in the school and in the church has been extensive. She is currently involved in Children’s Ministry at CCSD in the Nursery. Mrs. Andrea has been married for thirty years to her husband Bob. They have three children and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Anne has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from San Diego Christian College, and has been attending Calvary Chapel San Diego with her husband and two daughters since 2004. She has known the Lord since she was four-years old, and has always been called to work with children in various ministries. She currently serves in the AWANA ministry at CCSD. She will be furthering her education in Early Childhood Development, and feels blessed that the Lord has called her to serve in the preschool.

Miss Maria was born in Mexicali, Mexico.  There she worked in a private bilingual Christian school for five years.  God opened the doors for her to move to San Diego in 2002.  Since moving to San Diego she has been attending college, studying in many fields, but she sensed God calling her to work with children.  She has been attending Calvary Chapel for five years.  She enjoys reading and cooking.  She joined the staff of Calvary Christian Academy Preschool in November of 2007.

Mrs. Laura has attended Calvary Chapel since 1991. She worked in the Children's Nursery 11 years. In the year 2001, Mrs. Laura joined the preschool as an aide in the four-year old classroom.  In 2003 she became a lead teacher and has remained there ever since. She and her husband John have three children, her youngest Jesse, attends CCA. Her passion is to teach children about Jesus and prepare her students for kindergarten.

Mrs. Kellie has been attending Calvary Chapel San Diego since 1996 and has served in the nursery, 2yr. olds, and high school ministries. She is one of Calvary Christian Academy’s alumni of the first graduating class. She has an associate in Biblical Theology. She has worked for Calvary Chapel San Diego for 3yrs. She was recently married to her husband Dennis and has returned to CCA to serve in the 4yr. class as the lead teacher.

Miss Gina, our resident artist, has been with the preschool since 1999. She has primarily been our afternoon teacher but this season will be involved in our morning program as well. She is currently attending both San Diego State University and Southwestern College where she is working to obtain a degree in Graphic Design. Miss Gina is also involved in Calvary Chapel San Diego's Children's Ministry in the infant program.

Miss April Chisum (formerly April Valentine) was recently married on August 10th, 2007.  She is Miss Laura’s daughter-in-law.  Miss April has been working and teaching in the preschool since 2004.  She also has her associate teaching credential.  April is a musician and has played the keyboard and sung worship since Jr. High.  She now occasionally sings worship with Mr. Berryhill on Wednesday nights.

Mrs. Marisela is blessed to be married for the past 24 years to her husband Francisco. Together they came to know the Lord 22 years ago. She has two daughters, who work here at CCA preschool and a son. She and her husband have raised them in the church where they attend, La Rocka. She has been working with young children for several years and has obtained a Teacher’s Permit from the state of California. Mrs. Marisela teaches Spanish to the four year old class and is currently taking more classes at Southwestern to obtain her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development.

Mrs. Mandy has been attending Calvary Chapel San Diego since early 2000. Before joining the Calvary Christian Academy team, Mandy was active in children's ministry. She and her husband Sam currently serve CCSD by teaching in the five year old program.
Mrs. Mandy holds an Associate's degree in both anthropology and transfer studies and is pursuing a B.S. in Early Childhood Development. Both Mandy and Sam are part of the worship team at CCSD and are active in the area of arts & music.

Sam Lopez has been attending Calvary Chapel San Diego since early 2000. Like his wife Mandy Galarza, before joining the Calvary Christian Academy team, Sam was active in children's ministry. He and his wife currently serve CCSD by teaching in the five year old program.
Both Sam and Mandy are part of the worship team at CCSD and are active in the area of arts & music.
